Getting ready for Machu Picchu

My training has kicked up BIG notch since November and now in the new 2010 adding more fun stuff to the schedule, like aqua aerobics, running and stair climbing! I think the BEST change for me in 2010, besides the activities noted, is turning vegetarian on Dec 1, 2009 as a result of following the 21-day cleanse with Kathy Freston.

Met some new friends (Iwalani and Gayle) who will be part of the Machu Picchu Party in July! Casey joined us who will now be an honorary member hiking with us for the next few months! Carpooled with Jilly, Sherrie and Dawn making us seven in total for a perfect achievement for the day.

Iwalani lead us on a nice hike up to Angel's Rest in the beautiful Columbia Gorge on Saturday. We had 1540' elevation gain and through the rain, wind and mud, had a terrific hike followed by rest at Edgefield for lunch. I think Saturday we got a flavor of what fun we will all have in July in Peru. I look forward to the next hike together. :)

Ahhhh, the splendor of the winter season!

Remembering the winter wonderland and a White Christmas a short year ago: blanketed in two feet of snow, frolicking with Scooter and where mittens were never left behind
The smell of cookies baking in the warm oven
Smiles of joy when yummies are delivered to dear friends
Meaningful time spent with family and friends
Sleeping in.... or not :)
Watching "It's a Wonderful Life", again, with streaming tears when the angel earns his wings
Throwing up one more strand of lights on Christmas eve, just because
Sharing stories with special people
Walking down a path different from yesterday...
Creating memories

Family, frosty mornings, friendship, cheer, full bellies and fond memories forever.

Wag more bark less

Scooter is a fun loving little soul full of spirit and energy! Scooter is from Havana, Cuba and the breed is Havanese. He is smart, adorable and very loving and always, always there for you! He follows you everywhere yet has his own play time with himself, playing with his many toys, rolling, frolicking and just having fun! He has many friends at Doggy Day Care and gets lots of healthy exercise like, mimicking his twin sister mommy's.
